Courtney Herz
Hello. My name is Courtney and I live in Southern California. I am an artisan with a Political Science degree, which may seem strange at first glance. However, while some articles that I write are regarding artisan work and some are about politics and political culture, current events, legal issues, etc., I have begun to combine my two passions into one. I am beginning to focus my efforts on researching and writing about artisans nationally and internationally, how they are viewed by the government & society, their role in political processes, and working conditions for those who are artisans. In this very corporate world, those who pave their way through life as artisans are often underestimated, undervalued, and often unseen or, as is common in other parts of the world, even abused. Deplorable working conditions are often heard of for those artisans who do work for others, and those who are striving to be self-employed are more often than not brushed off, not taken seriously, and not given the credit they deserve or the help they need to start and run their business. I hope that through my experiences as an artisan and my expertise as a Political Scientist, I can bridge the gap between the two areas and bring awareness to the issues surrounding these very valuable assets to the economy. Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy my articles and learn something, as well.
